Board of Trustees

Authority of the University is vested in the Board of Trustees, consisting of a minimum of seven members who are elected by the existing Board. Each board member serves a five-year term. At least three members are elected one year and the next four or more members are elected so that the board always has a collective memory to promote continuity. The four functions of a board of trustees are to:

	Develop a budget.
	To provide guidance through policy.
		The Board sets policy and approve strategic planning efforts (vision, goals, needs, and expectations).
		The Chair of the Board in consultation with the entire Board has oversight over the evaluation of the President, hiring, major purchases, approval of new programs, among others.
	To provide management oversight (hiring and evaluating the director, approving the curriculum, etc.).
	To ensure two-way communication with administration, staff, scholars, publics, and within the board.

Duplichain University is an online institution governed by a Board of Trustees that appoints the President. The Board maintains legal authority and responsibility for the operations of the University. The Board, of which the President is a non-voting member, makes policy decisions and establishes institutional objectives and priorities. The Board of Trustees is responsible for the oversight of Duplichain University. This body adopts rules, regulations, and policies governing Duplichain University and it hasauthority over curricular development, use of property, development of facilities, and fiscal and human resources management.
