President of the University
Dr. Robinson is a seasoned administrative professional in the higher educational communities as evidenced by a history of service as an administrator in the Southern University System in the following executive positions: Interim Chancellor, Southern University at New Orleans, 2/2002 – 5/2002; Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, Southern University System, 1/1999 – 2/2002; Interim Chancellor, Southern University at Shreveport, 9/2000 – 11/2000; Interim Chancellor, Southern University at New Orleans, 3/2000; Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Southern University at Baton Rouge, 7/1998 – 12/1998; Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Southern University at Baton Rouge, 2/1998 – 7/1998; Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Southern University at Baton Rouge, 8/1991 – 2/1998. In addition, Dr. Robinson is a dedicated educator who is devout in his endeavors to ensure that no child nor high school graduate is left behind as pronounced through many years as a teacher and researcher in chemistry at Southern University at Baton Rouge where he earned the rank of full professor, as well as twenty-two years of service as an elected member of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board where he served one term as vice president and three terms as president. He retired from the Southern University Systems on June 30, 2005 after giving 41 years of service.

In addition to services in the East Baton Rouge Parish public school system and higher educational institutions, Dr. Robinson is an accomplished professional in the corporate and business community as documented in the records of his experience as a Research Chemist at Eli Lilly and Company, Mound Laboratory, General Electric Company, Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory, Dow Chemical Company, and is a 39 year business partner in a consulting engineering firm in which he served as Chief Administrative Officer and Project Manager.

Dr. Robinson received a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Howard University in 1964; a Master of Science in Physical Chemistry from Howard University in 1962; and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Morehouse College in 1959.

Dr. Robinson is an active civic participant through his service on numerous boards and civic organizations.

President’s Cabinet
The President’s Cabinet is composed of senior leadership from academic and administrative units within the university. The Cabinet serves as the senior management team of the University and is vested by the Board of Trustees to serves in an advisory capacity to the President and as an implementation vehicle of the University’s mission. The President‘s Cabinet meets bi-weekly.
